Better Job Opportunities, Better Philippine Economy

Better Job Opportunities, Better Philippine Economy

When Filipinos are given the avenue to access job opportunities that fit their expertise, they are also given an opportunity to live better, fuller lives.

Last February 23, 2023, two of our team members, along with more than 600 hopeful Filipino OFWs, had the chance to attend Serbisyo Para sa OFW – an international job fair spearheaded by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) along with the Philippine National Police (PNP), Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), Public Employment Service Office (PESO) and United Filipino Global.

Following the welcome messages given by several notable guests, the near-future establishment of 16 regional DMW offices was highlighted by Ms. Patricia Yvonne “PY” M. Caunan, the Undersecretary for Policy and International Cooperation of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW), as one of their department’s initiatives to improve and make more convenient the application process of Filipino workers.

Afterward, Pltgen. Rhodel O. Sermonia, the Acting Deputy Chief of PNP for Administration and the event’s Guest of Honor and Speaker, gave his speech regarding the initiatives implemented by the PNP to ensure the overall safety of OFWs over the years. The guest speaker, later on, emphasized how those who want to help in contributing to the betterment of the economy do not have to be part of the government.

“Hindi [po] kailangan nasa gobyerno ka para makatulong ka. […] Nasa tao iyon kung guston[g] [niyang] tumulong,” said PLt.Gen. Sermonia.

What’s more, Vince Ducut, our Director of Operations, was also able to observe how recruitment and manpower agencies were immensely meticulous when it came to assisting potential applicants.

“Makikita mo talaga na habol nilang makatulong doon sa mga kababayan natin. They just don’t hire because their client needs it. They provide proper education and guidance, and even redirect them to other agencies that can really help them. We need more avenues and community groups that care.” Ducut reported.

With all that said, we, at Blueshirt Philippines, stand with the abovementioned initiatives. We recognize the importance of opening avenues for the local blue-collar population through which they can access better job opportunities. Our Jobseekers’ Mobile App, available on Google PlayStore, is constantly being populated with job openings from both local manpower and private companies that have registered through our Employers’ platform. We further make it easier for our local blue-collar jobseekers by making available relevant and free-of-cost online training sessions on necessary soft skills by our in-house Community Ambassadors who are certifiably experienced within their respective fields.

To ensure that we also provide an avenue for our local blue-collar workers to find and connect with other workers within their fields, our Jobseekers’ Mobile App has also been designed with Community Group Chats for the three leading job categories on our platform. These aforementioned Community Group Chats are moderated by the aforementioned Community Ambassadors to make sure that registered job seekers are kept updated about our next available online training sessions.

That being said, these are currently the means through which we, at Blueshirt, implement our Mission Statement to transform the lives of blue-collar workers by providing opportunities for employment, online training, and self-improvement.

We consistently put our best efforts into building the largest blue-collar worker database in the Philippines so that more and more local blue-collar job seekers are able to utilize the jobseeker-centric features on our platform. Because we truly believe that when Filipinos are given the avenue to access job opportunities that fit their expertise, they are also given an opportunity to live better, fuller lives.

Through Blueshirt Philippines, jobseekers do not have to go through the usual grueling job seeking process. Through Blueshirt Philippines, jobseekers do not have to search — they are seen. Register now at www.blueshirt.work
